El Dorado Maroma, Mexico
April 1, 2008
Hi Penny,
I really liked the property. It was very secluded, quiet and private. If
your clients prefer a party place with a very active younger crowd, this
would not be the place for them. You have to travel via taxi ($20 each
way) to Playa Del Carmen for the wilder fun side. To me it was worth the
taxi fee to be far from that unless we chose to travel. I prefer privacy
and quiet.
Room service food was fine and the restaurants were very good. We never
had to wait for a table anywhere. There is the fancier dinner
restaurants (Mexican, Italian & Japanese) that you have to wear pants
and nicer clothing too but reservations are not needed. There is one
other larger breakfast and lunch restaurant that you can wear anything
too. I liked the food and was perfectly happy with it and the service.
They have a spa and gym onsite that seemed very nice. You can eat dinner
on the beach for a little extra cost and that looked pretty romantic.
Private table with 4 employees catering to you by candlelight at a table
on by yourselves. You can also get massages out on the covered area out
on the water.
It was very common to walk through the hotel property and only see one
or 2 more couples. We walked north on the beach for 2 miles up and 2
miles back and only saw one other couple. Beautiful water and the Marina
is directly next door to the hotel and is the only other thing nearby.
You can do boat or wave runner snorkel tours right from the marina. It
was a 30 second walk from our room to our snorkel tour which we did
right off the beach from our hotel. Very cool snorkeling.
